Yesterday was Father's Day. My whole family forgot except for me. wth, that's never happened before. I guess with my grandfather turning 80 and us throwing a huge party for him everyone was caught up in that event and nothing else occurred to be of importance. Good thing is that my dad is cool and didn't really care that everybody forgot. Another dad might have taken out the shotgun and painted the walls red. Somewhere in Texas, probably.
Not entirely sure when my site will start ranking again. Now that I have new pages being indexed every couple of days it should begin to crawl back up to the ranks it previously had and continue to crawl. I realize that this is sort of a dummy site, to figure out how skilled I am at SEO, and then to use then to use those skills to create a more explorative, self-centred website. The best thing for me to do is to reach out to people who are SEO gurus, by Twitter, or Facebook, or any other social network that would allow me to contact them. The key to success is finding important, successful people who have a large following but not so large that they won't give you the time of day if you reach out. It's also good to thank them in some way, and by doing so you associate them with the projects you are working on. Especially that thing I've been talking about but never mentioned what it is. The thing I'm doing next week. I probably won't mention it until it's complete.
I've been trying to find good books on marketing but there are other books that I am spending most of my time reading. I'm having second thoughts about taking Chemistry in the few months before my school starts. First because it will take up a large amount of my time and I will not be able to continue to work. Second, it is not a mandatory class. The problem is, I didn't take any Chem courses in high school, and I don't want to go into my Neuroscience courses without knowing any Chemistry. I could teach myself, but that would be tricky. And I have to act soon if I want to take it. I'll contact someone tomorrow about it.
In order to make a million dollars, there has to be specific goals that I accomplish every day that are aimed towards the more lofty goals that I have for myself. I have been working all day and am still at work right now (though I'm done working). By Wednesday I will have my recording equipment completely set up (which may require buying a new interface). One thing that I will need to put much greater emphasis on is my marketing campaign, but I can't really do anything until I have something to market and I have tested the waters.
And I don't know if I'm ready for next week, but we'll see.
